Ottawa Real Estate Board
The Ottawa Real Estate Board (OREB) is an industry association of over 2,600 registered brokers and salespeople in the Ottawa area. Members of the Board are also members of the Ontario and Canadian Real Estate Associations and as such are entitled to use the REALTOR® trademark. Members of OREB may promote their listings on Ottawa's Multiple Listing Service system, a co-operative selling system operated and promoted by the Ottawa Real Estate Board, which includes an inventory of listings of participating REALTORS®, and which ensures a certain level of accuracy of information, professionalism and co-operation amongst REALTORS® to effect the purchase and sale of real estate.

Renfrew County Real Estate Board
The Renfrew County Real Estate Board (RCREB) was formed in 1975 and is a trade association with approximately 140 registered brokers and salespeople members in the Renfrew County area. Members of the Board are also members of the Ontario and Canadian Real Estate Associations and are well educated and trained to help consumers with all their real estate needs. The MLS® System is a co-operative selling system operated and promoted by the Renfrew County Real Estate Board that includes an inventory of listings of participating REALTORS®, and ensures a certain level of accuracy of information, professionalism and co-operation amongst REALTORS® to effect the purchase and sale of real estate.

About the terms REALTOR® and MLS®
What is a REALTOR®?
The trademark REALTOR® identifies only those real estate professionals who are members of the Canadian Real Estate Association (CREA) and, as such, subscribe to a high standard of professional service and a strict Code of Ethics. The term REALTOR® does not mean "real estate agent" or "broker".
Every member of the Ottawa Real Estate Board and the Renfrew County Real Estate Board is also a member of CREA. All REALTORS® across Canada are governed by the REALTOR® Code of Ethics, which states that REALTORS® are committed to:

What is the MLS® System?
An MLS® System is a co-operative selling system operated and promoted by a Board or Association in association with the MLS® Marks. An MLS® System includes an inventory of listings of participating REALTORS®, and ensures a certain level of accuracy of information, professionalism and co-operation amongst REALTORS® to effect the purchase and sale of real estate.
The Ottawa Real Estate Board operates the MLS® Systems for the members of the Ottawa Real Estate Board and the Renfrew County Real Estate Board. OREB enforces a set of Board-specific MLS® Rules and Regulations that apply to all of the above members' listings.
Only a REALTOR® can list properties on his or her Board's local MLS® system.
